Peter Michael White

Peter Michael White, born in Fargo, ND on April 10, 1947, to Peter and Agnes (Hoffer), passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He graduated from Bay View High School in 1965 and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1969 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Following graduation, he enlisted with the Wisconsin National Guard. Peter joined State Farm Insurance in Milwaukee, WI as a field claim representative in 1970. He was promoted to assistant claim superintendent in 1983, earned his CPCU designation in 1986, and retired as a Divisional Claim Superintendent at State Farm's headquarters in Bloomington, IL in 2003.

Determined to never again scrape ice off another windshield, Peter and Mary headed to Tampa in 2004. Peter started volunteer work with the Guardian ad Litem program where he successfully facilitated an adoption process for two young girls. He also volunteered with the Ombudsmen Program advocating for the elderly in nursing homes.

After moving to The Villages in 2007, he enjoyed driving around in his BMW convertible, watching Packer games, and golfing with his neighborhood buddies, making a hole-in-one on St. Patrick’s Day 2012. Always the grillmaster, while listening to the Beatles, the Stones, Van Morrison, or Tom Petty, his quest for the perfect burger was always on his agenda.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Anne, son Phil (Laura), daughter Jessica, and his adored granddaughter Liberty. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister Kathleen and brother Dennis. Also survived by sister-in-law Bernadette (Buzz) Taves, brothers-in-law John Wickert, Joe (Mary Helen) Wickert, Mark (Sandra) Wickert, Frank (Mylyn) Wickert, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 24th, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 1023 E. Russell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM. Private inurnment at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Franklin, WI will follow on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peter’s favorite charity, Friends of SoZo Kids, serving children and families in rural poverty in the Ocala National Forest, or to another charity of the donor’s choice.
